An Anxiety Road Map for You and Your Child
If you're the parent of an anxious kid, you know the drill: you've talked about your child's worries over and over (and over and over) and it just never seems to help. Anxiety has a way of creeping up on you, and before you know it, you're bending over backwards to prevent the next meltdown. That's no way to live!
Sensitive kids need more than just talk to soothe their worries. They need skills to understand and control the overwhelming feelings that come with anxiety. This coping skills includes my favorite tools to help kids manage their worries, both now and as they grow up. I'll tell you what to do when, so there's no guesswork involved.

Hi! I'm Katie.
I'm a child counselor, play therapist, and drama therapist who loves helping anxious tweens become confident, resilient, and worry-free. My writing about children's mental health has been featured on websites like WebMD, Parents, and The Huffington Post. In my therapy practice, Creative Tween Counseling, I get to watch young people bounce back from anxiety, trauma, and stress every day.
I made this course because I wish all the kids I work with had access to these coping skills before coming to therapy. So many families come to me after struggling on their own for a long time. Sometimes, a few simple coping skills like the ones in this course are all a family needs to break the cycle of anxiety.
Long before I was a therapist, I was a really anxious kid. These are the tools I wish I'd known about when I was young. I've seen them empower other kids to get their lives back from anxiety, and I hope they'll help your child, too.
When I'm not teaching coping skills or counseling kids, you can find me playing Dungeons & Dragons, hanging out with my rescue kittens, or searching for the perfect New York-style bagel.
